Curious Carl

I had yet another brilliant epiphany while drawing Britney Spears, reading David Sedaris, and talking about Hilary Clinton with Roarin' Lauren tonight, because that's how things go. It basically went like this: "I want to have a book club/team blog where lots of people post comments, reviews, analysis, etc. of whatever they have been reading. Write about anything you want, as long as it is some form of literature.

Tell me who else should be invited to contribute, and give me their email address. If that person is you, that is especially fantastic.

Question: Should it be a public blog, or should I change the settings so that only authors can read?

I think this is a fantastic idea and maybe it will kick start my reading for pleasure. Who knows, maybe we will inspire each other and that's always amazing. Oh, and I don't care either way if it's public or not.

You're a genius, Carlsbad!

I don't have a lot of time to read for pleasure during the school year, but after I'm done with work for the summer, I plan to hit it hard, so I'm looking forward to getting ideas from everyone.

If you're looking for a good chapter book for the 4th graders in your life, though, I'm the one to ask.

Cool idea, Carley!

Public is fine for me, seeing as we're just discussing things other people have written. Now, if this were OFLM that'd be an entirely different story...

hi carley! i'm game for this. no time for reading (or sleeping for that matter) these days but that'll change upon graduation (may 19, my life returns!)

i would like to recommend gabriel garcia marquez's "of love and other demons"-- a short read (no 100 years of solitude)-- the themes are beautifully twisted/alarming and the writing is sharp.
